Autograph letter signed from Richard Steward, Berwick, to an unidentified recipient [manuscript], 1639 July 23.

Signifies the king's acceptance of Dr. Jenison's submission and his permission for him to return to Newcastle. In a postscript Steward gives news of the meeting between the king and the chief lords of the covenant which refers to the Treaty of Berwick, signed June 1639, and the king's meeting with the Scottish Convenanters at the end of the First Bishops' War.
